Multilayer chip ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), also known as chip capacitors, are capacitors made by stacking and co-firing multiple layers of ceramic films with pre-printed metal electrodes to form a monolithic structure. A layer of metal is then applied to both ends via dip coating, followed by sintering and electroplating. Because of their resemblance to a small stone, they are also called monolithic capacitors. They are important passive electronic components.
